As the world is struggling to fight climate change and solve sustainability challenges, businesses are increasingly expected to contribute to sustainable development. Regulation, for instance through the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), is rapidly increasing. Access to financial capital is getting limited for businesses with low ESG-ratings. Clients require transparent documentation and ambitious sustainability strategies, and young talents demand their employers to step up their contributions. This session gives an introduction to current trends and requirements in the field of sustainability, how this affects internationalisation strategies, and how businesses can unleash their full sustainability potential to foster innovation and turn sustainability challenges into business cases.
